An interesting thing is now Pirelli is saying that it did not ask Mercedes to use a 2013 car to test with.
The usual feelers has been put out by some (not all) of the media, those that feel they can influence opinion in some way, those that wants their readership to believe that they are not biased, they have been reporting that “A harsh penalty will result in Mercedes pulling out of F1” this is an attempt to precondition the judgment, it amounts to blackmail, it has been used before but not by the media but by Mercedes direct (Norbert Haug) at the time of lie gate hearing.

@richard
Would you care to look at the report on the BBC site and then let me know which particular scenario is incorrect?I

And,no, of course I don't believe Merc were ignorant of the regs but if they were misled by Pirelli I suggested they may escape a thrashing.

Dylan. the false moustaches gave it away! :D :D

mr fill. the full report contains an email from Bernard (lawyer) to Charlie, and a further email from Charlie to Bernard, which was in fact rather vague, but did not actually grant permission. it was not all verbal.
