@Taz - well if McLaren had done this they may have gotten a harsher penalty but you also have to remember that McLaren has a history of cheating any lying to the FIA so it makes sense to punish them more harshly. As far as a precedent being set for future testing, where will these teams get their tires from? Pirelli surely won't be supplying them. I think that the penalty is fair. It is a much larger advantage for a team to run their own program over three days than it was to get extremely limited data from Pirelli's program.
