F1 » 'Nearly a really special day' for Webber

Mark Webber: I made the most of those safety cars – and today the strategy was one of the best we've done. I think it worked very, very well.

He relies on the electronics, like everybody else, for a good start. He didn't blame the team. He simply does not know why this start was bad when he doesn't think he did anything different. All he said is that they will need to look at it to see what went wrong. He did not blame the car or himself. It was an excellent drive. He kept the pace up despite the broken front wing in the first stint. He passed them like they were standing still in the last stint. The reception he got from the British crowd was huge and shows that the hatred shown to him on this board is from a very small minority. And all the drivers benefited from the SC. It has certainly helped others win and place in earlier races.

Richard, you are lowering your learned standards. Firstly great drive by Nico & 'Nando, & yes Webber got 2nd because things fell his way, but in his own honest words he used the "what happens in races" situations well, and was him saying "we need to look into what went haywire at the start" really blaming the team?. When Lulu's tire went bang I said to my brother "God SV was lucky not to cop a lump of tire in his face" & I did feel sorry for him when he lost drive after having it in the bag. The crowd showed their appreciation of Mark the man on the podium. As for Lulu his pace & recovery was impressive to "anybody who knows about racing".

@ Rich, luck is a part of sports including F1. Good luck means you do well, bad luck means the opposite or worse. The best two drivers today Lewis and Sebastian both had luck turn against them with Sebastian getting the worst of it. Neither driver was anything but the best before luck turned on them. It is not an understatement to say that the winner was not the best driver today. Correct me if I'm wrong.

To say he only finish 2nd because of the safety car is ridiculous. He had to recover from 15th to put himself in a position to be there at the end. and to say that it's only because of others misfortune is also a bit absured. Every race in one way or the other drivers benefit from other mistakes and misfortune. It sounds like your just a Webber hater and can't face the fact that he just had a good drive today
