Pirelli says it isn't in conflict with F1's competing teams despite laying some of the blame for the failures seen at Silverstone firmly at their door

Find that hard to believe.

Everyone is been pro-active and nicey nicey due to the safety concerns but there's needle between Pirelli & Ferrari/RBR & FI.

Things will be peachy though with Pirelli's 'works' F1 team..... Merc.

so when the rest of the teams get their 1000km test (4 days) and they can't pick up Merc's speed please stop complaining :) Merc have had the fastest car for almost the whole year, getting their race setup right is an involved process, they will keep getting stronger and stronger if they are working on a solid basis. Don't be surprised to see Merc finish 1-2 at any of the next few races.

Pcxmax is right.
Here we have a team that have been quick all season in qualifying, not so on race day, however they have a car that is evolving fast.
No one can truly account for any gains that were made during the Pirelli Tyre Test.
However that is now history, reprimands and penalties served.
After the Young Drivers Test maybe all the teams will be a little more understanding in actual gains.
The tyre testing at this programmed event is the only part that the current drivers are allowed to participate in, apparently, lets see if the teams attempt to manipulate this.

It's Good To Talk.

The Mercedes / Pirelli test woke up the FIA and other teams to the fact that Pirelli need a fully representative car to test & produce the 'correct' tyres. It was the other teams politics that got highlighted and their head in the sand position.
Now the FIA say yes to a 2013 car. As the young driver test is no more fro young drivers, how can Mercedes now be stopped from going to the race driver test? It's all a plot to stop Red Bull from getting a 4th title and more boring races!!

@pcxmax Sure, the merc maybe the fastest car in a straight line and for 1 lap, but the race is not 1 lap. Merc have used less aero than the other top teams (which gives them a benifit in the top end and on occasion the entire lap) but 'they' like Webber are very hard on their tyres, andwhen in front tend to hold other teams off rather than drive away from the field to save their tyres. That in my opinion is not motor racing.

You are right, but don't forget that pcxmax is a Hamilton fanboy.

You know, the people that tell you that because Hamilton is quick over 1 lap that makes him the best F1 driver.

The fact that F1 GP's are usually slightly longer than 1 or 2 laps seems lost on them.

Also, the FACT that Hamilton hasn't finished any higher than 4th in the WDC since 2008 doesn't seem to hold any bearing on their delusions.

Hamilton is the best - because....well...just because! Just ask any Hamilton fanboy!

hahah getting away from the tyre issue and talking about drivers... The DRIVER does not say what tyre pressure to run.. what camber to run.. these are the supposed problems that caused the blowouts.. Again My thoughts its a tyre issue.. come one guys what other race have you ever seen 5 tyres go in one race weekend?? As merc are "pirrelis works team" thats even funnier when it was lewis who had the first blowout during the race... Pirelli have not taken one bit of resposability for the weekend.. Also are some of you trying to say that the teams only decide that this 1 weekend they would run different pressures? oh and lets try putting the tyres on the wrong side.... are you actually watching the races or do you just read what people say?

“Reprimands and penalties served” no the penalty haven't been served yet, that's due to be served at the forthcoming young drivers test with a bit more justice added to the judgment by allowing teams to use race drivers like Mercedes did and without the need to hide their presence by doing away with black helmets.
But Toto of Mercedes already expressed his concern about what the teams testing will do.
Also he is now saying (and he might have a point) that if the test will be for four days Mercedes will pretend to attend (take part) for the 4th extra day.
