Monisha Kaltenborn seems to be doing a good job of running the team....cough.

Pretty serious if they are struggling for funding to the level where they can't pay the non pay driver.

I thought he moved cause the Sauber was quite a bit better than the FI last year and also with an eye on landing seat with Ferrari through the engine connection.

Anyway it's no surprise they have financial troubles. Only the winning teams in F1 can make money, the rest has to depend on billionaire owners and/or paydrivers.

If they weren't able to get proper funding last year when the results were good it will be even harder now. They have a slow car that their good driver has all the trouble in the world scoring points with and their paydriver is so slow he's arguably the worst driver in F1 this year. Not really appealing for potential sponsors I would say.
