Bernie Ecclestone has hinted that he is considering buying the Nurburgring in an effort to preserve the future of the historic venue.

atx. there already is such a system on the nordschleife! it is called RAIN, and it can come at random places on the circuit, due to trees etc.

sleepy. paul ricard is not closed. it is used for many differing events , just not f1. it is a commercial operation.
the nordschleife is also a commercial operation and is not suitable for f1. so why would Bernie buy it if not to make more dosh? so good on Bernie if he does buy it.

It would be far better to bring back Hockenheim with the old lay out and those fabulous straights going through the pine forest. Oterwise the circuit's no good (in its present layout).
