was a great lap to be only 4 tenths of fastest and 1 tenth of eventual pole sitters Q2 time, caught me by surprise thats for sure, strange the way the car can sometimes shows flashes of good speed like earlier in season & pre-season, very odd car.

I expected, by now, for the usual bunch of Button bashers to be in full flood.
But one thing comes to mind. This season, both the McLaren and Williams cars are dogs, both following seasons with good or excellent cars. Both teams have a rich history - indeed Williams, if anything, since the late 80's have been the stronger. How is it, then, that when the Williams both fail to get out of Q1, there is no torrent of criticism of Bottas and Maldonado? There are no end of derogatory comments about Button if the same happens. Maybe someone can explain - with rational arguments, please, not more mindless abuse.

The facts speak for themselves really, Williams are not and have not been a front running team for a long time, nobody expects them to do well so nobody is very interested . On the other hand Mclaren are supposed to be one of the top teams and Button a title challenger also. I am critical of Button because I don't believe he is the driver to get the best out of a very poor car, indeed he is only able to get the best out of a good car some of the time witness last season. People are hyper critical of Mclaren and Button because Mclaren have a huge ego and continue to maintain that they are one of the best teams, Button believes he is good enough for another championship, that's OK but neither of them are showing anything like the form to suggest that is possible, Mclaren are in a gradual unaddressed decline and Button for all of his talent is no match for Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso and Raikonnen. I hope he wins again but the odds are not good and unless Mclaren can come up with a competiti
