F1 » Vergne unfazed by Ricciardo form

Jean-Eric Vergne insists that he is focusing only on each race remaining on the 2013 F1 calendar, rather than allowing himself to be distracted by the lure of a seat at Red Bull.

Well vergne I think you should be a little fazed by Ricciardos pace because you start 16th your teammate is 6 th I really hope Ricciardo gets the red bull seat as he deserves it more than Kimi thing is Kimi is already in a fast car I say give a chance to the up an coming

These two guys make each other look average: Ricciardo qualifies well but disappears in the races, Vergne qualifies decidedly average but has decent racepace.

I'm afraid a topteam wants a driver who does both disciplines well, and these guys don't have it.

Given the choice between the two, if I didn't have a 1st driver signed I'd choose Ricciardo and hope that in a good car he can unleash his speed in the race as well.

When looking for a 2nd fiddle though, Vergne could be the ideal solid back up driver that scores points for you every race but can't threaten the no 1. on pace. Probably the better fit next to Vettel.

I would love Red Bull to offer Mark a deal where he goes to Torro Rosso for four races to see where Dan and Jean are as regards to pace, and both Dan and Jean get two races each in the Red Bull up against Seb.
I have a funny feeling though that the Kimi deal may already be signed.
