The cameraman struck by an errant wheel during the German Grand Prix has apparently escaped without serious injury.

Richard I wouldn't exactly call this bad bruising.

It looked nasty. As with you and Sunny I hope he recuperates to be as good as gold.

"That report was subsequently amended to include a broken shoulder, cracked ribs, bruising and cuts following his transfer to hospital in nearby Koblenz".

Could easily have been fatal, thank God he escaped with injuries. Best wishes for a full recovery.


Why do mechanics have to wear helmets and full safety gear in the pitlane but reporters and cameramen can be there in shorts & T shirts?

The same occurs downhere Taipan. The only requirement is you must wear a Racesuit and enclosed footwear in the Pit Lane.

Teams in Pitlane must wear full racegear including helmuts but is not neccessary in the pit garage

Bruising only eh?

According to F1 website he has sustained Broken collarbone, Broken ribs, a severe concussion + cuts & bruises.

Maybe the time is right to mandate that everyone in the pit lane wears full protective equipment including helmets.
