Lewis Hamilton: We've clearly got a good car but for some reason, it doesn't work in these hot conditions. We'll keep working on it

Pretty sure the safety car didn't help Hamilton. He'd only pitted a couple of laps before and went from running about 5th to about 7th.

The Merc really does seem to have a strict max temp. Anything above about 35 celcius track temperature and it's painfully slow, but less and it's as quick as anything else in the field. Unfortunately most races are run above their threshold.
