Two points: 1. Massa's misfortunes in races are too numerous, could this mean he is overdriving the car?
2. Does he have a good communication with his current race engineer? He seems to suffer from bad set-ups a lot.
It may be that his focus is too much on beating Alonso in qualifying and not enough on achieving a good race setting which leads to his race problems and his inability to support Ferrari's bid for the manufacturers championship. I may be off-base but there is a pattern to his and Ferrari's seasons of late.

I sometimes think that Massa is too busy trying to remember all the reminders and the "lecturing" that Smedley gives him before every race, he forgets to just drive instinctively and express himself freely on the track.

But maybe I'm wrong and he is simply not good enough to draagg that Ferrari to race wins like Alonso does now and again.

it has been reported elsewhere, that flip is testing parts for ferdis car. notice how they often use differing bodywork etc the spins are peculiar, they all happen on rh corners but the car goes left. at Silverstone, the hydraulics failed, jamming the car in fifth. in Monaco, Ferrari first of all blamed flip, but then recanted and admitted it was suspension failure, so maybe they are testing interconnected suspension on flips car? we don't know the full reasons for his offs, so don't automatically think it was the drivers fault.
nealio, last year, there was criticism that flip could not match ferdi in quali. this year, he is matching or bettering him, and he is being criticised for that now??

complete failure of domenicali and montezemelo to win a championship after 2007 (with jean todt). Utter lack of leadership. Hiring FA has not helped them in championships. Further demotivating Massa for months has taken a huge toll on him. He no longer thinks and acts like an grand prix winner. Looks like ferrari needs new drivers, new team management . I dont support Ferrari, but they are absolutely essential for Formula 1 brand

The fact that they feel required to say they have confidence in Massa and that they expect him to perform says it all. They are not saying this about Fernando. No, Massa is on thin ice. Deliver or be gone, likely back to Sauber if the Russian financial rumours prove to be true.

He has had far too many accidents for whatever reason, maybe the pressure is getting to him, either way his career is near to it's natural end and Ferrari need someone good enough to back up Alonso, they also need to design a good car rather like Mclaren, they have both underperformed of late.

logical. "for whatever reason.."??? so if the accidents are due to Ferrari giving flip experimental parts that fail, then he should go? I cant see the logic in that. if it s Ferraris fault, then it would be more logical for flip to get fed up with Ferrari! ferrari are maintaining confidence in him, so that would imply that Ferrari are accepting some, if not all the blame.
