Marussia has finally put pen to paper on a deal for the new-for-2014 F1 engine and powertrain, securing its place on the grid next season.

i didnt give manor/virgin/marussia much chance. but since they ditched wirths computer designing, they have been giving caterham a bit of pressure. and caterham had the advantage of better engine and shared tech. so marussia , with Ferrari engine, could surprise next year. if only they could get a better driver alongside bianchi!

I think Bianchi is rated very highly by Ferrari, and that in a year's time or so he might make the move to the red team. This would help explain the engine deal, and Ferrari might be looking to utilize this team as their own little Torro Rosso team to place drivers and chart their development. Hope so, because they are working hard and making incremental and positive steps towards mid-field competitiveness.
