Ricciardo being slower then Vergne in race pace was really only in the first half of 2012.
I suggest if anyone whats to see my point watch last years Korean GP, apart from a late failure that was the race i knew this kid has the potential to go far, what he did in the race some drivers would struggle to do in a Red Bull let alone a STR. Vergne from what I can see is quite stable in the race but most of his points are opportunist and his qualifying record shows he has no underlying pace that may come from experience as he is consistently outclassed by Riccardo by some margain.

I think Ricciardo is a few seasons away from getting his peak potential as experience will bring consistency, but Vergne in my eyes has stayed the exact same the entire time, decent race pace/horrible qualifying, I will admit though he has shown to be quite the weather expert though, but to expect weather to get a result is not the way RedBull will want to go.

Freejack, very true.

He needs to get the balance right. He needs to not rock the boat, but be right up Vettel's gearbox in races and snapping up any points that Vettel misses due to technical failures or whatever. It's a long term strategy, because when Vettel leaves for Ferrari, Ricci can fight for the number 1 status in the team!
