'It certainly wasn't fastest in the race'

excuse me old love, I only commented about your remark above on the race NOT the weekend....
Webber set the fastest lap !!!! but it's ok I don't expect you to bow back it's very difficult to bow when you slither on your belly

If you really want to be a snake charmer you should always focus on the fangs not the belly otherwise you'll probably get bitten.

So the fastest car of the race is the one with the fastest lap in your mind? Not the one on fresh tyres when the fuel load is low?
Hmm well done to McLaren for having the fastest car at Malaysia....

@ tai,
absolutely not, how do you want to cut it really,
the fastest car would be the one that crosses the line first.... thats a given over a race distance
the statistics always show the driver achieving the fastest lap .... by definition that is the fastest car albeit only for maybe one lap
its all word play when all's said and done, depending on the driver being your hero or your villain... i was only picking you up because you didn't say OVER A RACE DISTANCE you specifically said IN THE RACE
many thanksssssssssssssssssssss

Charmer (great tag - not)

It's actually not the fastest car that wins the race.

Its the Quickest Package.

Made up of the Whole Team's Input - fuel usage, development, braking, rule interpretation, testing, wind tunnels, pit stops, tyres, wear, cooling, risk, opportunities, mechanical life time, driver ability, development, learning, aero dynamics, etc, etc, etc, etc.

"Fast Car" is a great song by Tracy Chapman.

if his car works, he should 'at the very least be a conteneder. ross brawn comented last year that the mercedes 'didnt like long corners' after they were rubbish in budapest 'and' spa. they appear to have solved that deficiency after hungry. hamilton, along with vettel have acheived 9 top 6 finishes out of 10 starts this year. while mercedes powered mclaren to win the hungry, spa and monza last year.

Mercedes looks like they have got a grip on their tyre problems but that would have to be proven in races to come, that's because there are many a factor that may show a false picture.
Race strategy was the key part to the outcome of the race, the timing of the pit stops were a decisive factor.
The Mercedes top straight line speed advantage (with DRS and without) certainly flattered Lulu's ability to overtake plus setting his fan boy's minds in overdrive.
