He's more than ready for the RedBull drive as he keeps overqualifying the car, and then he has no tyres left for the race. Give him a car that doesnt chew its tyres in a race or hold him back pace wise and he'd have scored a podium or more by now easily. Vergne is good, but Ricciardo is a lot quicker and makes that car look better than it is in qualifying.

I do question STRs strategy of replacing both drivers for these two, I would of sacked one then brought one in so you could compare, for all you know they could both be elite drivers but if they are getting similar results you can't really tell.

I would of sacked Buemi and kept Alguersari and have him team mate to Riccardo for the year, if Ricciardo starts outperforming him, sack Alguersari.

Either way Ricciardos Qualifying difference to his team mate is even bigger then Vettels advantage over Bourdais back in 2008.

Also keep in mind, Vettel and Ricciardo both started in the middle of a season and both of them where team mates to Liuzzi.

in the 7 Races Vettel did with STR, Liuzzi Qutqualified Vettel 4 to 3.

In the 10 Races Ricciardo did with HRT(that Liuzzi was there), they Tied 5 all.
