Luca di Montezemolo questions the courage of the FIA for the way in which it dealt with the Mercedes tyre test

Will the nonsense never end? How has Mercedes gained a testing advantage when, to date, all teams have been provided with a single in-season test with their race drivers? It's really just sour grapes. Mercedes are currently walking all over Ferrari because their engineers have done a better job. And so have Lotus and Red Bull, for that matter. Ferrari should stop moaning and pull their fingers out.

Re the DRS cheating, Hungary is assuredly not the only race that Alonso has cheated with DRS. And frankly, who would expect it to be? If Ferrari had a cheat mode in their cars (and we now find out that they do), who here would not expect a team like them to use it at every opportunity?

I support F1 1st, then Lewis. But all the teams have now tested the tyres before it was used. Which Merc was punished for? Even Ferrari did a test, don't care about the conditions of that test and the compliance of Ferrari. All of the teams tested the tyres with their current cars as well. Now every success that Merc have this season will be questioned. YES, they gained a lot of info, but the wrong was fixed. Previous years it was Red Bull that was questioned and again it was Ferrari complaining about the fact that others got an advantage.

If you want to cheat the first rule is try not to get found out.

Having DRS open in a part of the track where it is not allowed is very visible to the TV audience and stewards i.e. it gets noticed very quickly. On the cheating scale it rates slightly below rubbish. You get found out, it doesnt give you any real advantage and you have to pay a fine.

These people are at the pinnacle of the sport and are expected to be supreme cheats.

Googol, good of you remembering that, in fact I ran off and bought some white wash with the intention of finishing the job, but then Taipan made a remark to/about Mark which put me on hold, now am starting to doubt if it was the original Mark from on these pages.
As to all the others combined believe me, they are not worth the white wash which is very cheap locally.

@Sunny - Maybe the cheating comment was a bit hasty but this is not the only time that Ferrari have had their DRS activated when they are not allowed to. I have said since the beginning that the Merc test has been blown out of proportion.

Rob, I know that you'd like to think of Ferrari as perennial cheats but to suggest Stepney putting white powder in the Ferrari petrol tank as Ferrari cheating is pushing things a bit far.
It wasn't exactly advantageous to the team was it? He was charged with sabotage FFS!
