F1 » Horner: Vettel won't influence who replaces Webber

Christian Horner: I don't think Sebastian has any concerns about going up against any driver, and he hasn't voiced a preference either way...

In a way he's got more to lose against Ricciardo than against Kimi. Seb is obviously quick, particularly on the new Tilke stop and go tracks and Kimi is also quick, particularly on tracks with a nice rythm and some faster corners. I think if they'd team up neither is going to completely blow away the other (if the team actually gives equal machinery that is), eventhough Seb migth (sadly) have the edge in qualifying...Still, no reputations damaged.

However Ricciardo at this point hasn't really made a name for himself yet (well...he's made it to F1, but you know what I mean). If he can come in and immediately start to equal Vettel after being regarded so far as a decent midfield driver, people are going to say, 'ok it is Newey, it's the car'.

Vettel wont have any say on the second driver....yeah right...........is Helmut Marko leaving then??
Ricciardo is not that good, and Kimi is looking for an easy life. Real competition is not coming.....!!

mright ... aham .... they will establish the #1 driver the same way they did in 2010 - Webber got more points, but still Fettel was favoured with new parts.

Unfortunately, the only way for Kimi is RBR. Lotus has no more money to pay him, and unless he's willing for some charity work, that's the only way he can do it.
