Jean-Eric Vergne says he feels a lack of consistency has ruled him out of the running for a drive with Red Bull

I have to say Ricciardo is so overrated and Vergne massively underrated. Vergne is by far the better driver in race day. And Jean Eric has been extremely unlucky with many more tear an engine failures than Daniel and some stupid driving from other drivers (like Schumacher last year). I really hope JEV can go to some better team like Lotus because he deserves it.

@Taz

Why not Lotus ?
He is french and with Total and Renault it's important to have a french driver, and i think he is a far better driver than Grosjean (fast but so inconsistent).

Nationality shouldn't have anything to do with it (I know it does though).

He's had a few decent drives but he's qualifying has been poor. I think he's done enough to have another year at STR but despite his brain fart moments Grosjean has genuine speed.

I don't think JEV would do any better at Lotus than Grosjean is (this season).

Beet Jev is to immature, he has flashes of pace.... But goes off the Boil, and more importantly he cant qual.
Not sure l understand how you can say Ric is overrated and Jev is underrated? for that matter neither can Redbull or he would be in the running for the seat.

I think everyone is forgetting Ricciardo chews through his tyres in qualifying which means they fall off quicker during the races, the fact that JEV isn't fast enough to get into Q3 often benefits him during the race.

Not to mention the questionable race strategies from Daniels side of the garage.

bob jane. have a look at the comparison stats! whereas jev has had 4 dnfs to dr's 1, their stats are basically identical with jev just edging it! I agree that quali is jevs weak point, but in race trim, he is the faster and his points tally is better.

Richard disagree about race trim comment... with Ric in most tracks he used more tyres in Qual...Both Drivers, for the majority of the season have been on different strats because of Jevs poor quali.....,and there are the variables such as Luck ,traffic, Tyre wear,poor releases,bad pit calls, lockin wheel nuts, mechanical ..,,ect ect...RIC was very unlucky not to bag a lot more points in GB except for losing nearly 6secs in the pits in both stops.....BUt Jev has a few poor releases...and Monaco was hardly racing...BUT way to many variables to use a few points as a benchmark between the two drivers in the Races, as with most of the midfield runners

With Jev and Dan the Benchmark is practice and Quali were both cars roll onto the track the same, and then it comes down to drivers getting the best out of the car with setting up the car balance to suit the track ..driver feedback to the Engineer is very important...a few variables do apply but rarely...

Dan excels over Jev in this area
