Stefano Domenicali says he would be keen to keep Felipe Massa at Ferrari next year - if the Brazilian shows he is worthy of the seat

Taz is spot on.

A second driver needs to finish in the top 5 on a regular basis to even have a shot at the WCC. Even when he isn't crashing out Massa has just been very much off the pace.

Domenicali says "everyone wants to drive for Ferrari." I doubt that is true. Most would enjoy the money a Ferrari seat would engander, especially these days, but for a driver interested in winning championships it's a huge gamble and one that more than a few would shy away from. Ferrari's No. 1 and No. 2 driver system would also limit the number of top drivers willing to drive for Domencali's scuderia. It would be much wiser for Domencali to face the actual performance of the scuderia and hire the most intelligent and aggressive youngster he can find, pronto.

massa is far more important to Ferrari than most realise. he is basically a test driver, and suffers from that at times. but look at his quali efforts, matching and sometimes bettering ferdis times. he has lost none of his courage or ability, but has accepted that the clear number 1 at Ferrari is ferdi.
as for the comment that di resta should replace him.....? di resta????????come on, Ferrari need a fast driver!
