Emm but that's not what you said. You were suggesting the team principals were being gullible not political!

It's a completely secret ballot with only one person at autosport knowing who cast what vote, so just what sort of "political" gain is available to anyone?

I was going to join the banter and post something like: I'm enjoying this. Taipan, keep playing with him.

Then I thought Crash would delete my post and accuse me of "goading"...even though we're all grown-ups here....I think.

Rob, I'm going to think way outside the box here...

Maybe the voted for Alonso in 2010 because they thought he was the best driver.
Maybe they voted for Vettel in 2011 because they thought he was the best driver.
Maybe they voted for Alonso in 2012 because they thought he was the best driver.

Sounds plausible to me...

richie, neither is wrong. He believes the vote is straight up honest voting by the team principals. I don't. I don't eat every crap sandwich fed to me. I voted last year for a man who took his third straight championship all the while fighting a teammate that was helping the other side. Vettel raced against the whole grid last year. Alonso had Massa and webber and at times lewis all over his side and still lost. Vettel was the better driver.

Rob, Just where do you get the idea that the vote is not honest? It's been held 5 times, Lulu, Button, Vettel and Alonso (twice) were the winners, now you could quite easily make an argument to say they were the deserved winners. If a British driver or a Ferrari driver won it every year then you would have a point but that's not happened.
As for Lulu "helping" Alonso well that's just more garbage. I agree that Webber was not the most helpful team mate but Schumacher did pull over to let Vettel past in Brazil so they both had help at some points.
You may think I hate Lulu but I can at least accept that he drove superbly in 2007, your hatred of Alonso makes you completely blind to his ability. Vettel was great last season but in my opinion(and the team principals) Alonso was even better. That's not me being political or believing whatever BS is fed to me that's just me giving an honest opinion of what I watched last season.
