This is all very interesting but tell me this. Is the Ricciardo/Vergne pairing that better than Buemi/Algersuari? The results of both pairings look almost identical, yet all we see is praise about how great Ricciardo is. If anything, Toro Rosso doesn't even do what it's supposed to (that is granting the drivers a proper stepping stone to Red Bull based on a weighted evaluation of a driver's performance, not on Mateschitz's turbulence of emotions.)

Bob Jane, well, 6th place in Canada was a one-off thing, and the previous best result (in the 2009-2012 years) was 7th place, just one lower, which is not a big deal.

Last year the team came ninth in the Constructor's championship, exactly the same as in 2010, with an average of 11th finishing spot.

This year something happened to their main competition, no wonder the team is running in 7th place. Sauber and Williams are not a challenge any more, hence the slightly better results.

All I'm saying is that Toro Rosso is a flawed concept. They should've given a fair chance for Buemi/Algersuari to enter a top team, instead they fired them like garbage and hired a new pairing, which is on the same level of skill. I have nothing against Vergne or Ricciardo, but seeing how Daniel was signed up mid-season for questionable feats makes me think that it was a done deal long ago.

Plus there's no knowing if Ricciardo will beat his teammate. The two are going toe to toe.

Alex you and l don't own a team or understand all the inner workings of one , the team had their reasons for dumping the other pair....if they thought they were champs they would of keep them.......tost did say the torro was a better balanced car in 2012 and the 2013 tires have had them scratching their heads this year. ...Maybe they expected better results in 2012?..on the surface it seems unfair BUT?
