F1 » Vettel happy with ‘damage limitation’

Instead of seeing his advantage reduced by his rivals at Monza, Sebastian Vettel contined to pull away at the top of the championship despite a couple of technical issues.

It is fair to say there is no more to look forward to for the remaining season - Vettel is as good as good as 2013 FIA F1 World Champion. Forward to 2014 and the new turbo era (even if Im no fan of turbos)

Joat, why is there no more to look forward to this season? There's 7 races to look forward to!
Is who wins the championship the only thing you're interested in?
7 races, that's all sorts of action, arguments, controversy and excitement if you're an F1 fan.

Maybe F1 need again a Race of Champions like they had until 30 years ago, who's winner gets a special trophy. I know that's not good for the policy of cost-cutting but they could allow only the top 5 teams to take part on it. They could prepare some different rules regarding the set up, in order to dismiss some of the advantages of the fastest car or something similar. Just for fun. I like very much that in football, in Champions league, whatever advantage any team has in its national league they can loose it all in just one match. Like last year when Bayern Munchen won somewhat easily the Bundesliga, but risked to loose the prestigious Champions League to rivals Borussia Dortmund in just one match.

Unlike Lotus and Mercedes and Ferrari, Red Bull seem to be near or at the top at pretty much every weekend. I can't see anyone other than Vettel being 2013 champion.

Hamilton's performance this weekend just emphasises the importance of qualifying.

There is still plenty to look forward to. Granted, Vettel and the Red Bulls are getting wearisome to watch because they are so consistently fast, but there will always be a battle or two down the field. The fact that the Ferrari/Lotus seats are unconfirmed adds to it all too, especially with Massa floating about now. I hope Hulkenberg gets the decentdrive he deserves. It is LONG overdue!

With a bit of luck the new regs will shake things up a bit. Watching Vettel scamper away every race with that RB doesn't make a very thrilling title race! :P
