..Believe me,it was much worse in those days! Its much better now with different winners n pole positions n excitement,DRS n cars being so close together with many champions on the grid..much much better indeed!

that's your opinion Button, as far as I am concerned F1 was more exciting in Schumacher's day. It wasn't exciting for you maybe because one driver dominated the races and that driver happened to be Schumacher. In fact one of the top drivers then made a suggestion that Schumacher should skip a few races.

I think it's better, at least the racing is closer and there are more chance of different winners.

I began watching Formula 1 at the end of 2001 although the cars looked and sounded better the racing was pretty dire and you always expected Schumacher to win.

I can't say I've noticed much difference really it's just a different person totally dominating and as for DRS and KERS making for exciting racing I don't believe in gimmicks whatever the reason. Also I'm amazed Button finds it exciting trailing round miles behind the leaders. F1 has never been truely exciting because of the inequalities of the field. Two or three top teams with one dominating all the time with the rest nowhere does not and never has lead to exciting racing. There has to be an answer but no one has found it yet or rather nobody wants to find it because it might just upset the applecart.

I'm lost with some of these comments, the racing is closer now, with more overtakes, more different winners, better reliability and a better driver line up than at any time over the last 20 years.

In the 90's and 2000's on average there was 4 - 5 winners a season, last year we had 8 and we've had 5 already this year.

If it's just about racing what do you want, NASCAR?

Or is it more to do with the individual that's doing the majority of the winning that's getting on your tits?

Agree with Button, I reckon the last two years have been fascinating.

As already stated the racing is closer and there are different winners.

Hope next year will be as good (or better).
