Maybe Rubens is doing some "string -pulling" behind the scenes? He could give Massa a lot of inside info. Might be his only option really, (if indeed a seat there is available.) Sauber is a complete non-starter with the Russian stuff going on, and Caterham/Marussia probably wouldn't even ask him having been down that route with Trulli/Glock etc already. At least Williams have a history despite their current dip and (possibly as Rubens may have intimated) it's no disgrace racing for them and things may well change in 014 anyway.

Going to Williams would be a complete disaster and would serve no purpose other than to keep Massa in F1. They do not have the money to get out of the terminal decline they have been in for years and the only slight hope is that Ross Brawn buys into the team via Toto Wolff who I believe still has money in Williams. Lotus are known to have rather sketchy financial arrangements hence Raikonnen's move. The sensible thing for Massa is to retire from F1 rather than trail round in an uncompetitive heap. I f he really wants to keep racing I'm sure he could land a good sports car drive or maybe Indy except that they would probably want paying.

Over the weekend, Felipe has spiced things up a little telling Brazilian media Golobo' that, “We're negotiating with Lotus and it's going well. They have a competitive car, which is what I want”. Massa adds, 'We are also in contact with McLaren, but this is more difficult to judge,'

While Williams is no where to be found in 2013, 2014 could throw up surprises. I think they have been working on 2014 for a while now and PM's $ has probably been funding that train, where as the 2009 change didn't have that $ backing that transition. Also having Pat Simmons, and Merc power on board can be a huge attraction. I think Lotus losing James Allison along with now being a "customer" instead of "works" Renault team has really knocked Lotus down a notch.

Both teams would do well to have an experienced person like Massa on board.

Massa talks to everyone except Ferrari !

He talks to RBR on where's the best place for dinner !
He spoken to Bernie how's life with a taller woman !
He says something to Pirelli how to shorten life of racing tires !
He talks to Mercedes AMG on the best sauerkraut town in germany!
He was seen having kidney pie with McLaren

Massa was everywhere !
