Wonder how hard they tried to tempt Kimi to join? can't blame him for not joining.

They don't have much choice but to stick with the current drivers. Massa wouldn't do any better than the current drivers and the Hulk is probably Lotus bound.

No doubt they are trying to beat JB down on price - just as they did with Hamilton.

It's understandable and I think JB will oblige. We've seen before that he is more than willing to take a pay cut to keep doing what he loves - and we all saw how that turned out.

I fully expect the McLaren driver line up to remain unchanged - although I wouldn't mind seeing Perez out and Hulk in!

What this team needs to do is have a management and driver clean out the team has got stale.
Whilst Button is a consistent and good racer and makes few mistakes he doesn't have the outright qualifying pace to start with the top guys, and Perez well I have never rated him even in junior categories, we all know why he's there.
Hulkenberg, Bianchi, or someone is needed to inject a bit of pace and kickstart the team

The fact that they have'nt announced anything rather suggests that things are about to change. I too thought Button was signed for several more years bt it seems not. They will obviously try and cut his wages and keep him (because they currently don't have too many options) and try and land someone better than Perez such as Hulkenburg. Then if Alonso jumps ship for 2014 a line up of Alonso/Hulkenburg would give them a very strong line up with the new Honda engine. Button would find his career cut off at the root rather like Massa but both of them have only themselves to blame for that.

Logical, "Button would find his career cut off at the root rather like Massa but both of them have only themselves to blame for that"

I get the impression that you don't think Button has been performing recently?

2013- Currently more than double the points of his team mate.
2012- Was beaten by the epic star Lulu by 2 points.
2011- Beat the awesome legend Lulu by 43 points.

What more should he have done over the last 3 years to stay in F1 in your opinion? beaten Lulu by an even bigger margin?

3 years as team mates Qual: Hamilton 44 Button 14
Ahead when both finished Race Ham 24 Button 13

I think Button should have done slightly better

Mike, It's amazing to think Lulu had such an advantage in qualifying and better reliability than Button but managed to score less points than him. My theory that he's good on Saturday's and average on Sunday's seems to have a lot of truth in it.
