I think JB may be incorrect. Many reports suggest Alonso was not giving 100% at key moments in practice etc., though in the races he is on it. Alesi had an interesting article, stating that as soon as Alonso began to posture and criticize the team, they had no choice but to seek out another top, experienced driver. Kimi's arrival may be Alonso's doing. Ironic.

Quite funny that McLaren want Alonso back, a nice apology from Ron for stitching him up might help.

I wonder if Ron ever looks back on his decisions in 2007 and considers just how many championships it cost McLaren?

@Taipan

If by some miracle Alonso does go back to McLaren, how long do you think it will be until we hear the inevitable 'Button will be smashed by Alonso'?

As usual, it will come from the same people who tell us that Hamilton 'smashed' Alonso in 2007. Also the same people that declared Hamilton would 'smash' Button.

It seems totally lost on these people that if Hamilton scoring the exact same number of points as Alonso = smashing him, what does that mean Button did to Hamilton considering he outscored him by 15 points??

Alonso seems to have caught Lulu's disease recently, where he's more in the news for his mouth than his driving.
I see elsewhere he's now claiming he advised Ferrari to hire Kimi. I'm sure the team hired you for those sort of insights Fernando! Just 2 weeks ago Massa was good for the team according to him.
Factor in his bad mouthing of the team recently, & he could easily be confused for Lulu.

Bob, The fanboys have an ingenious way of avoiding Lulu's perennial points deficiencies. In their World points scored are apparently irrelevant it's qualifying that really matters, going backwards during the race seems to be of no consequence to them what so ever!

Maybe they should just follow F1 on Saturdays as what happens on Sundays means little to them!

Alonzo would be good for McL, Keep R.D. away from him and he would bond with any team. It would be very exciting when in 2015 Honda enters the picture with their engine, many think it will be the best...
