F1 » McLaren risk ‘was worth taking’

Seventh and eighth in the Singapore Grand Prix may not have been the result McLaren desired, but the team was happy to accept them after coming up short on a tyre gamble.

McLaren will have a winless season this year as in 2006. I don't see how that junk can win a race. To make matters worse, at least they got the podium many times in 2006 and did it with both drivers (in 2006 McLaren raced 3 drivers) but at the moment they are podiumless. It isn't the year of the british. They could hear their national anthem at the podium only at Melbourne(for Lotus) and Budapest(for Hamilton). That is strangely rare, just like in 2002.

Whoops, it does coincide with a certain driver with Lewis Hamilton. But is just a coincidence. Ok, I believe that McLaren would have more points and maybe a podium or two if Hamilton stayed at Woking. But taking a race victory would be too much, with Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen being there with much better cars. Lewis just won once this year, and he didn't finish 2nd at any race in order to say that i.e Vettel and the RB9 were so fast and Lewis gave it all but couldn't beat him.

Button and Mclaren thought they were in tyre management mode, and had their eyes fixed on the podium, until the iceman started hassling Macca's #1 driver!

One thing I know is that Perez would have paid Kimi back for his crash at Monaco!
