McLaren has abandoned plans to test the latest Pirelli tyres in Texas after the FIA revealed opposition to the session.

something about not testing on a track before it sees action in 2013. Ferrari managed it I believe, but they are special, and they test all the time. They should hit Barcelona and have some fun.

Or just postpone till after the round in Austin or on the way back from Brazil.

So Ferrari can test with 2011 car during this season, Red Bull can test with 2011 car during this season, Mercedes can test with 2013 car during this season and then theres Mclaren who are banned from testing with 2011 car and a crappy le mans racer test driver as well haha nice!

it seems that the objecters were force india, i read that force india have an outstanding debt to mclaren along with mclaren wishing to place 'a' driver in force india against vj's wishes. also i force india wouldn't want mclaren to get even further ahead.

gazza. keep up! the issue is not about the test, but the timing and place! testing at Austin a couple of weeks before the gpthere, would give macca valuable info about the track. othes who tested used different tracks etc.
