No, following Lulu's improved pace with the new cap design, McLaren have moved to sign up Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, & Yves Saint Laurent immediately.

Whoever they hire it's not going to improve the poor qualifying of their lead driver and it's unlikely to have much influence on next years car either. One can only hope that by 2014 they are fully recovered from their slide down the grid and that they will have also signed a driver who can make full use of the new Honda engine they will have from then.

WHAT TOSH.
There's nought wrong with the 'lead driver' . You can't make a purse out of a sows ear. Jenson is a great driver and an even bigger asset. The very close qualifying times for Perez and Button show they are right on the edge of what that car will do, which isn't much....
There SHOULD be blame, but lay it at the right door. Who designed the thing, who signed it off, and who made the decision to abandon a good car in favour of this car, which for McLaren, is simply awful beyond belief. Jenson is a victim, not the cause.

I said Button is'nt a good qualifier and I would think that is a given fact, I did'nt say he was a bad driver or the cause of Mclarens problems, they are rather more deep seated than that. Button is a very good race driver, not the best but in the top four or five and with a good car he can get the job done, it's just unfortunate that Mclaren have slipped away from the top teams this season. I agree with you that Button is the victim not the cause but then I did not say he was the cause, what I did say was that they needed someone who can qualify more consistently and I believe that will happen. Button and a n other would make a very strong team.

New tech bods may help but IMHO they need a total restructure at Macca. MW kind of hints it in the article but I suspect he's part of the problem. Quite how they manage to build such sh1t cars from such enormous resources is quite incredible.
