Maria de Villota most likely died from natural causes resulting from the lasting effects of her 2012 F1 testing accident, medical sources have confirmed.

As usual when this (death) happens, everyone is there and about to offer their 'condolences' . After the accident it was clear (from reports) Marussia wanted nothing to do with her and seemed to absolve themselves of any blame. Goes to show what F1 really is. RIP Maria and good speed to your family and beloved ones.

Given the other options, I guess this news (that her death was due to natural causes) is the best that could be hoped for, yet doesn't make it any sadder.

Joat - I don't think Marrussia trying to absolve themselves of blame should be seen as a negative against them, but a sad reflection of the litigeous society we live in. These days such actions are just part of business survival.

how can dying from the effects of a horiffic testing accident a year ago be natural causes?

if it was not for the accident she would not have died, so surely it should be ruled as such.
