Fernando Alonso will wear a different helmet design at this weekend's Indian Grand Prix, marking his passing of Michael Schumacher's previous F1 points record.

rd. yet he finds it a good reason to plaster a false figure on his helmet!

tman is spot on with his comment. this figure means absolutely nothing and ferdi is just showboating as he has nothing else to "celebrate"

This is what I don't like whenever records like this appear. Because the system has changed the numbers are not right. It's like Raikkonen with Schumachers points in a row record, Raikkonens record should only count for top 6's or include Schumacher's top 10's. Anyway, I will do it later but I'm going to convert all of Schumacher's and Alonso's points to the current scoring system and get the total. I'll post a comment up when I do if nobody else does it first :p

I guess its like Vettel's record for most poles in a year as well. He had more races in the season to beat Mansell's record. Percentage-wise Vettel doesn't have the record.

That's just what happens when rules change in sport. Deal with it.

jut some stats I saw.... if schumis points total was converted to current scoring system, he would be on 3890. so ferdi is not even half of schumis points. but there again, some of ferdis points can also be weight loaded, which brings him up to 2275 (I think), still just over half of schumis.
