F1 » Pic to return, but not necessarily with Caterham

Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde are among Caterham's considerations for 2014, but both are in talks elsewhere too.

I remember seeing a video from GP2 or something (years ago) and Vettel and Hamilton were fighting for second place, while Van der Guarde was in the lead. Now I don't know about the rest of his career, but back then he was fighting with the best (and winning at one point). Shows what happens when you don't have an F1 team backing you from a young age.

And also, I wonder which team Daddy Pic is going to pay next year to let his son drive?

He showed good things against Glock in 2012 but he disappointed me this year.
The F1 is odd, the rank ladder is always changing due to many parameters like new tires or improvements that suit better for one of the two drivers so it's hard to evaluate drivers.

I think it might just be me, but I really like Charles for some reason. It must be frustrated for all of the drivers who consistently finish at the back, but somebody has to finish last. Also Van Der Garde had great potential but like others have said he just missed out and didn't get into the sport as early as Vettel and Hamilton.

Both of them would have benefited from a Max Chilton in the other car to make them look good like Bianchi, but instead they're fighting it out among each other.

I rate Giedo a little bit higher cause I think he's got a bit more raw pace and potential, but Pic has been more consistent especially at the beginning of the year when he had the benefit of a year of F1 under his belt. Giedo seems to have taken over now though and made it to Q2 twice.

There's a lot of people with money out there though and Giedo only brought about 5 million this year so realistically who knows if/where there is a seat for him...
