Had Nico been given the opportunity to goto Lotus last year then I think- paid or unpaid -he should've snapped it up. Just look at what being unpaid has done for talent like Kimi who is now off to Ferrari.

Not saying that Lotus haven't been douches, but just that if they can get Nico to where he wants to go then perhaps Nico could have taken the hit and risked not being paid until the end of 2014.
