Taz, they can always cover the steel bars with steel chicken netting.
If BE is found guilty and CVC will fire him it will certainly be because they couldn't have done otherwise and not because of financial morals/ties, there us and will never be Maria Gorettis and Mother Theresas in the field of making money grow as rapidly as possible.

In the criminal law, one inference that can be drawn where there has been a false denial of something is that it has been made out of a realisation of guilt.

It depends on how good the excuse is for the denial. In this case the excuse is that he had plum forgotten about the payment of $44M.

It might be good night nurse for Bernie.

Taipan, seeing him going in and coming straight out of that revolving door and realising what happened just as he faced the same people for the second time was really funny. I remember Moseley once saying that BE can enter a revolving door behind you and come out before you did.

Sounds like a pretty cut and dried case to me... :s

If the guy he paid is in jail for accepting a BRIBE, then surely Bernie must be guilty of paying a BRIBE...?!

And he really 'forgot' about $40million? Please...

Also, if his story is true... what tax secrets does he have that are worth $40mill to cover up...?! I think that warrants investigation after this case, regardless of the verdict!

Whatever the rights and wrongs of this case, surely the hipocrisy of CVC is breathtaking?
Bernie is accused of manipulating the sale in such a way that CVC got the business on the cheap.
And if that is proved to be the case then CVC will fire him???
Surely CVC should be standing in the dock beside him?
