Grateful?....he's having a laugh.

Considering what he said about Williams, the only reason he'll be staying in F1 is his oil millions to keep Lotus afloat.

Sooner or later he'll have a coming together with the much improved Grosjean and when things don't start going his way it will get very public and messy. Hope they know what they're letting themselves in for.

There will be plenty of shattered carbon fibre and tantrums, actually himself & Boullier deserve each other.

pdvsa have apparently agreed to a collaboration with total, as long as the 35 percent buy out goes ahead (not wanting to pour money into a team that may not make it to the grid next year . . . tj13), pastor may have jepordized his relationship with lotus however by stating he is very interested in the sauber seat

Nico's already signed with Force India, it's just waiting to be announced. Rumor has it that Perez signed too and Sutil's off to Sauber. People are saying that the Lotus deal was taking too long and Hulk got irritated.
I don't know why everyone's so worked up though. FI have got a VERY good engine for next year. And Hulk+Perez seems like a pretty good lineup. Nico may in fact do extremely well next year.

I have a feeling that he Maldonado may surprise a few people if he ends up with the Lotus drive. They managed to turn Grosjean around in the latter part of the year into a really competitive driver why can't they work the same magic?
Money aside he was the GP2 champion before his graduation to Williams, I think after his win in Barcelona his expectations were far above the capabilities of the car leading to a lot of frustration and loss of focus.
At the end of it all money is a huge factor and the simple fact is without drivers and their sponsors a lot of teams would not be running and the grids would be a lot smaller.
He is a necessary evil I think :)
