F1 » Hamilton: I want title in 2014

Lewis Hamilton: I feel that everyone here is just as hungry. They've not have the success that perhaps they've deserved and they've not had the success of teams like Ferrari and McLaren and Red Bull. But they're hungry to have that and that hunger is what will take us there.

Man, that sounds like hard work.

I seriously doubt he'll put in the effort Vettel will. Statements like "This year has been an average year in terms of my performance" are odd though, just what the Merc shareholders want to hear after paying him 20 million to drive the car for the year.

I dont have any problem with Lewis's comment its just the way I see Merc is the way I saw Ferrari in 1996 - 1999. Just not good enough. I will still rate his chances higher in McLaren than a Merc despite the fact that I wont trust Whitmarsh managing a team scooter rider racing through Brockwell park

He was saying somewhere else that he'd prepare for 2014 like he did in 2006, which is doubtful as Brundle was saying during the Austin GP that Lulu did 30000km of testing in the McLaren in 2006. Not really a rookie in 2007 then as he'd driven 5 times the championship distance the year before! that explains a lot.

He will not even come close to the level of effort of Sebastian. Vettel lives and breathes Formula One with downtime in Switzerland living a modest existence. Lewis on the other hand wants to be a celebrity more than a racing driver.. who knows he might give up his BBC column of drivel, for an equally boring column in Closer magazine or the like...
