F1 » Newey will keep going ‘while I enjoy it’

Adrian Newey has no plans to walk away from F1, despite being linked to other projects.

Newey is one of the best, but is Rory Byrne really designing the 2014 Ferrari? Or is Rory just "helping" as he did in 2005-2006? If he IS the designer, then we may see red cars in the front instead of blue in 2014. If its just another "helping" role, then maybe Rory just wants to buy a larger island in Thailand.

its simple, as long as an's winning whats not to enjoy, best feeling in the world when you win at that level.
For me what's amazing is with all the aid's to aero design, model's, cfd, on track data harvest. he still seems to understand it just a little bit better than anyone else, and his opposite numbers are not in anyway short of the odd braincell, , the control and distribution of aero flow around the car and how to use it, thats what he gets better than anyone else.
be good to see if Rory did come back........

Surely, a man that's as competitive as Adrian Newey is, will never leave the sport/RBR if he's not on top. I think if RBR didn't win a title next year he would be even more determined for 2015. I think he would be more likely to leave the sport if he and RBR keep on winning this convincingly every year. Having said that, the change in rules will probably keep him interested until they reach the top of the development curve with the new cars, so maybe another 3 years of WDC & WCC would do it.......place your bets lol

You're right he definitely deserves to have his OBE upgraded considering his achievements in, and contribution to, F1. His list of WCC wins (while he was chief designer etc) is incredible, especially when you consider that they are spread out over 21 years so he's managed to stay at the highest level for a seriously long time. Here are his WCC wins:

1992 Williams FW14B
1993 Williams FW15C
1994 Williams FW16
1996 Williams FW18
1997 Williams FW19
1998 McLaren MP4/13
2010 Red Bull RB6
2011 Red Bull RB7
2012 Red Bull RB8
2013 Red Bull RB9

10 constructors titles in 21 years is an incredible achievement which needs to be honoured, and I haven't even mentioned his numerous WDC winning cars!
