F1 » Boullier: Maldonado may need 'fine-tuning'

Eric Boullier: I think we just need to make sure he [Maldonado] can keep his focus - actually similar issues we had with Romain last year - keep his focus on track. I'm sure that with the proper support and team around him, we can do something nice with Pastor.

“We are still confident something is going to happen. But timing is an issue,”

It certainly is. 5 months of 'it will be complete by the end of the week' and they still believe in the deal.
They could have an F1 pantomime - Quantum and the F1 team.
Eric:- Uncle Quantum is nearly here with his sleigh full of money
Audience: - OH NO HE ISN'T
Eric:- Don't you believe me children?
Audience:- NO
Eric:- Oh. Well I have to go now. I have to fine tune young Pastor with this fine tuning baseball bat.
Audience leaves laughing.

"He [Pastor] is a friendly guy, he's a fast guy. He won a race in F1 and it was on merit - it was not gained from some lottery"

Wait, so it *wasn't* because he was one of 7 different winners in 7 races due to tyre inconsistencies, nor was it because of a random event that meant the original pole-sitter was demoted to the back of the grid?

I'm confused.

While I'm not a PM fan by any stretch, EB does have some what of a valid statement. RG was a crash magnet in 2012, but he has completely turned around in 2013. They may get him the same psych team RG is using. I know RG's performances this has won me over.

Fine tuning would be required if he had exhibited a modicum of racecraft so far. Unfortunately they really need to consider an attitude readjustment and find a way to address his history of poor judgement in critical situations.
