The dearth of F1 action early on Friday mornings could be addressed by the latest sporting regulations which open up possibilities for teams.

The FIA seems to be underestimating the engine mileage which for sure will be critical and so teams will avoid mileage on engines as much as possible.
I remember the engine (Cosworth V8) reliability problems Benetton went through with Tom Wilkinshow advising that the only way to be able to finish a race was to keep mileage off the engine in practice.
