A surprising choice, but given the number of mediocre drivers and ex drivers on the lose at the moment it's not too surprising. Personally of all of them i would like to see Kobayshi back in a decent car as I thought he did a good job and seemed to overtake quite a few people, they may well have been asleep of course but he still did it and really seemed to enjoy his racing certainly more than Paul Di Resta.

I know its been rumoured for a while but...I never would have put him at Sauber! With all the Russian business going-on in the summer, I was sure it would be an all-Russian line up next year. So... is there another surprise coming our way? (Still, as Taz says - he's got backing.. possibly more straightforward & reliable than the Russian roubles .. )

I would have taken PDR over Sooty.

PDR has more talent and I believe has more potential. I'd also give PDR the nod when it comes to character, ok he's never going to be the life and soul of the party, more likely to be the miserable bastrid sat in the corner whining that there's a fly in his champagne, but at least he wouldn't stick said champagne glass in your neck if you look at him the wrong way!

Well it gets better and better as it seems the weeding out of the moaning talentless drivers with one in particular going back to DTM.

EJ, JS, DC and AM im LMAO you are the only ones that rate you know who and the likes of Mclaren , Force India and now it seems Sauber know talented drivers from drivers who just keep moaning over the radio without delivering. It will be DTM for some next year.

I'm sure we'll see Sirotkin as test driver, at least he wasn't given the race seat. Sutil is a known (/mediocre) quantity, I guess if he brings a bit of cash then decent signing from a team perspective, not great for the fans who want to see the talent though!
