Sergio Perez believes that he and new Force India team-mate Nico Hulkenberg have the necessary hunger to push the Silverstone squad back towards the front of the F1 field in 2014.

Perez should speak for himself, Hulkenberg on the other hand has little to prove, however Force India are a middle of the grid team and that is where thry will stay regardless of who drives for them. Hopefully Hulkenberg will prove once again thet he is a class act and if commonsense prevails he will finally be signed by a top team, Perez on the other hand has a lot to prove and if he does'nt manage some decent results he will be yet another has been money or no money

perez has 'proved' that given a good car he can get it to the podium. he has also improved his qualifying (he outqualified button). hulk on the other hand has never had a car that could realistically get him to the podium. its a win win for force india, they get 'two' promising drivers 'and' some money.

Back towards the front? That's pushing the facts somewhat isn't it?! Truth is that SFI are well established in the mid-field and have had to rely on the likes of McLaren to screw up to even begin to look like moving up in the constructors championship.

Had they both been in the car this year I'd say neither would have landed a podium finish. I also question the whole hunger thing they are pushing out because I seriously doubt anyone on that grid isn't hungry for top results.

Next year could be a great opportunity for FI. If the Mercedes engine will be a bit better than the other two engines, they can at least try to fight drivers from big teams from time to time. So the big teams could be interesed in them. In 2015 it could be too late because the rich teams will re-estabilish themselves at the front of the field, having understood and rectify their main weaknesses. So both drivers must impress next year if they are going to land in a big team in the near future. IMO Hulkenberg has already proved that he is worth for a Ferrari(or any other big team) drive. When Alonso and Raikkonen will be out of Maranello, I hope that Hulk will be their leading driver. Finger crossed.

Looks like 2014 will be interesting season as long as Red Bull do not have a secret weapon . Perez is talking about himself as the Hulk has nothing to prove as his talking is done on the track . Perez is all talk and will have nowhere to hide this year !

I rate Perez a lot higher than you guys - he gave Button something to think about this year, maybe not in overall points, but they were pretty close in performance (without crashes/bad luck) I would say.

Button is a good driver, and McLaren are his team, so Perez should be commended for his year IMO. Hes still very young, I think he'll mature and be a class act.
