Felipe Massa left Ferrari for the final time, taking with him with a special F1 parting gift from president Luca di Montezemolo.

They could probably have got good money for a whole car, and then even more running it through F1 clienti.

They've probably got loads of scrap engines littering up the place and it would have given an apprentice something to do polishing it up.

We have an Emerson Fittipaldi McLaren Monaco GP used engine block (just the block) at work and that's apparently worth £20k or £60k (I forget which!).

It's a lovely thing to look at! I didn't even know we had it when I stumbled upon it in a room on a table one day. Couldn't believe it!

I'm sure it was well-intentioned but to an outsider it seems a bit of a strange leaving present? A gold watch became a bit hackney'd but at least you could walk off with it in your pocket & it would tell you the time .. but an engine..???? Weird.......
