F1 » Sky claims live monopoly on ten rounds

Sky Sports F1 will show ten F1 2014 rounds 'exclusively live', but BBC adds classic venues to its live schedule.

taz. have you not got sky? Scottish frugality?

I must say that sky give far far more technical info on the scene than bbc ever did, even if they are saddled with brundle! but they do at times go overboard with the info. but the board that they use to explain lines, mistakes etc etc is absolutely amazing, and provides a whole new perspective. their 3d attempt was pretty or though.

Both channels have their problems, Fanboy Brundle and Suzi "I'd rather be hanging out at Moto GP" Perry being two of them. Ant Davidson is an annoying little nob much prefer Chandhok's input and I find 2 minutes of Gary Anderson far more interesting than 30 minutes of "lets go to the Sky pad" or what ever the hell they call that screen.

Having exclusive coverage of all races rather eliminates the competition for best coverage, so the 'award' means nothing.
I feel that the sky race commentary is vastly better than the BBC with their shouting man and 'Interesting' Coulthard. Coulthard is spectacularly dull on the grid walk.
On tech commentary, about equal. Ted Kravitz and Gary Anderson both cover the subjects intelligently.
For pundits, I find both sides pretty tedious. Sky with Simon 'I like golf' Lazenby and the Hinge and Bracket pairing of Hill/Herbert are crushingly dull. The BBC team of Jordan/Coulthard become very tiring after a couple of minutes constantly trying to out do each other and creepily letching around Suzi Perry who they try to belittle as often as possible.
The rest of the crews (people like Davidson, McKenzie, Pinkham etc) are fairly evenly matched.
Overall. neither is brilliant but sky probably gets my vote just on race commentary. Disappointing really

Yes its bad but look at Moto GP - now that really stinks if you have sky and no BT internet..

Take a look at what has to be forked out just to see the damn races!

As an aside - satellite kit from DIY store - offset a few degrees from the UK setting and get RTL for free. At least the races can be seen. Expect this post to vanish shortly.

Let us just unite for a moment and make sure F1 does not end up down that road!
