Winless his final season may have been, but Mark Webber leaves F1 with another seventh place in the Driver of the Year poll based on his battling performances and willingness to speak as he finds...

Put Webber and vettel in v10 cars with groved tires over a season without kers or drs b/s and I think mark would have his way with seb. Seb is obviously better with these types of cars but that doesn't mean he is a better racer p
In everything. I like them both but I really believe back when f1 cars were cars built for men and scary to drive mark would have the edge imo. And as for the bad starts, before these new tyres (Pirelli) and kers marks starts were never this consistently bad, not the best bit definitely not like the last 3 years.

Yet again this guy finishing behind another driver who was in a Lessor car this guy needs to look at Riccardo Patrese of 92 in the dominant Williams FW14 car in how to be a quality No2 driver. If you cant beat your team-mate when having the best car then at least become runner up but as i recall he has never come runner up in any of the Red Bull car where Vettel has become champion due to driving according to Eddie Irvine the best car.

Good luck to him in the future but i wont miss him in F1.

Webber had 4 seasons driving a v10 with no drs or kers (2002-5) ending up 16th, 10th 13th and 10th. Not quite overwhelming.

In a Minardi and a Jag, not exactly front running teams we're they..

Yea like john marston said they weren't front running teams. Mark is a mans racer seb races slowrt modern day aerodynamic slick tyre toys. And so what if lap times are faster now the cars are slower and tracks safer. Mark would win in equal v10 cars with groved proper tyres.

Shannon. pray tell....HOW on earth could you even think that you would KNOW that? such a comment is completely groundless, as nobody can know what a person could have done in any car in the past. why, even maxie might have been able to beat webber

Fact is that Vettel can adapt better than any other current driver. Lets see next season. Mark seems to e a top bloke and there always room for someone like him in F1. Good luck in the future.

As a race MW was good. You do not win Monaco x2 and 7 others by being a bad racer. Him speaking his mind makes him a fan fave, going against the grain and doesn't follow the corporate line all the time. I see him much like Rubens or Massa, both good, won a few races, but just never got it all together at the right time to be WDC (well Massa for like 30 seconds). He will be missed. Not many drivers left that seem as much as MW. Good luck with Porsche.
