Good luck to them. I think it would be good for F1 to have a US team. Fingers crossed if there is another new team that they are not another moving chicane like HRT.

I do hope that, coming from four speed tin top dinosaurs that have only just updated from carburettors, they fully appreciate what they're in for...

Jez, Has NAPCAR actually moved on from carbs? Their rate of progress is something to behold, next they'll invent the overhead cam engine!

I'd like to see a successful US team, it would be good for the sport. But you have to wonder how appealing F1 is to new teams right now, even with Bernie's mooted 200m budget cap it's a hell of a lot of money to spend in order to probably end up last.

Does anyone know what sort of budget NASCAR teams operate on? Not including beer and burgers obviously....

The interest of the HAAS racing team in a slot on the F1 grid is by far the best so far.
A US team will be good for F1.
I am one hundred percent sure that if customer cars were allowed in F1 the HAAS team would be racing a FERRARRI in F1.

This project actually has a possibility of success. Haas has significant motor racing infrastructure in America and abroad as well as long established relationships with various open wheel racing companies. Their business interests are very diverse and profitable and they will be able to immediately shore up some form of sponsorship to make it worthwhile. Two questions I have are, why do you want to be in F1 at the present time, and, if you really do, why begin from scratch when there are several good, small established teams that with new ownership and significant cash could really improve quickly.

Taipan, HAAS are producing the CNC machines on which most of the F1 engine parts are produced with.
I have personally seen in operation a HAAS CNC machining centre machining a V12 cylinder block all over.
FERRARI uses a lot of HAAS CNC machines for their engine manufacture.
