Good news indeed, Mclaren need a good start to the season and I want to see Button in a competitive car, he will then have no excuses. He still needs to sort his qualifying but i suspect it is too late for that and we may well see his new teamate outqualifying him on a regular basis. I think Magnussen will come in with a clear mind on what he needs to do while Button will be struggling with a perceived lake of balance/grip/ aero efficiency or what have you. Could be very interesting!

“mclaren will pass all tests prior to track running, mclaren spokesperson insisted”.
This spokesperson didn't needed to make such an effort to explain that point as according to the rules no car can be run on track unless it passes the FIA mandatory crash tests.
But on the other hand this same spokesperson left all concerned including mclaren's fans in limbo as to whether they will miss testing or any of it or not.

I red that there won't be anymore an orange livery for 2014 despite McLaren having not a title sponsor at the moment. The article said: No orange livery for McLaren after Dennis return. Can anyone inform me if Dennis has a problem with the orange color?! It's McLaren original color after all. Being without a title sponsor it looks natural to me to return to their original colours. Does anyone know something more about it?

You would think that minus a title sponsor, they would do the next best thing in the interest of the McLaren Group & try raise the value of their own brand?
Surely an orange McLaren would do that best?

I quite like Whitmarsh & feel about the opposite for Dennis ... but with McLaren going 2013 without a podium, failing the initial crash tests, not having replaced Vodafone despite some big talk at the beginning of 2013, and now uncertainty about making the first vitally important test ... I'm not surprised the board has stepped in with some changes.
Honda must have been asking a few questions of the board too.

From what I have read I have the impression that Dennis killed the (orange) thing of Whitmarsh. But the colour might have to depend on the sponsor, also, there were rumours doing the rounds of both Gillette and Sony, but again as no sponsor has yet been announced it means just that, no major sponsor yet.

The last time there was a completely orange McLaren was 1970. well before Dennis' time so he may not embrace that tradition.

I believe Sunny is correct in that Whitmarsh had suggested that they may go the orange route when interviewed by a journalist, I'm guessing this is Ron just showing who's running the show now.

Does anyone know anything about Force India's 2014 challenger. When it will be debuted? I guess that when Boullier said that Lotus wouldn't be the only team missing the Jerez test he was thinking about Force India. Perhaps. Marussia too has not confirmed their launch date yet.

Dont think it matters. McLaren have a driver pairing on par with Sauber or Force India.

Mid Table mediocrity again for McLaren. Button is average driver, should have punted him and kept Hamiltion.

He doesnt know how to set the car up or help the team with feedback................
