F1 » Button: This isn’t good enough

McLaren pair Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen were left frustrated by a lack of grip - and points - in round four of the 2014 F1 world championship.

dale: Lewis Hamilton laughing even louder. Remember Whitmarsh saying " Lewis will regret leaving Mclaren" . That's a laugh out loud squared.

i think whitmarsh's reputed 10 million mclaren payout will make him quite comfortable with hamiltons success, he wanted hamilton to stay, ron wanted him out

It definitely isn't good enough. Also must be said that after a very good debut Ron's new golden boy is kinda fading away into mediocre territory both pacewise and with a few incidents over these last few races.

Said debut will yield him some goodwill that'll last him for some time but I'm predicting by the end of the year we'll have to conclude he's not an improvement over Perez.

Once again it seems Mclaren have produced a poor car and also seem unable to develop it either. I feel sorry for Button and Magnussen and I imagine that RD is already looking for replacements for most of Mclarens design staff. Quite why this situation has gone on for so long is difficult to fathom but it seems that despite RDs return Mclaren have continued their drop away from the front of the field. As Williams have found it goes on for a long time and is virtually imposible to fix. Sadly for Button it is unlikely he will win another GP, being in a poor car at the wrong time has finished many drivers careers. Honda must be wondering if they have made the correct decision to return with Mclaren and Mclaren will probably be hoping for an engine that gives them a massive advantage. The problem for them is that you need a good car as well and that seems way beyond Mclaren at present.

this is pathetic standards from one of the most resourced teams in f1,

they really have to sort it out or it could be another season with no podium
(not counting the one in aus through ricciardos dq)

hamilton had the last laugh and new where he was heading to in 2014

Agreed but to be pedantic: Magnussen was on the podium in Melbourne even without the DR DQ, the DQ made it a double podium for them.
