richard: sky/rgt. one of lulus dnfs was certainly down to him. he had exactly the same problem as nico...but nico conserved his car to cope, lulu didnt! so his retirement was down to him!

Sorry mate, you have lost me with the sky/rgt thing could please elaborate.

I don't remember Paddy Lowe or any other Mercedes hierarchy blaming lulu for his retirements.

sunny. remember when lulu shouted over the radio......"i cant drive this friccing car"....?

nutty. i am sure that they could do with your input! but then i would expect lulu to have the common sense to stop on the marks. that might help!

The back foot with respect to out right championship lead/position, true, but in terms of performance, his team has been the biggest liability. Hoping Mercedes can figure out how to get close to 3 seconds on their pits with him and there are no more DNFs, and the idea to ditch FRIC doesn't cause any "setup" issues.

Some of the fan arguments are pointless sometimes. Both drivers have had a variety of problems and have shone (and shown) their driving skills to come through and win races. Lewis has had problems, but so has Nico. There was also that race where Nico lost all radio transmission with the pits and had to rely on his own judgment for most of the race and brought the car home safely in second place.

My point is they are both very good drivers and will attack and counter-attack throughout the season. From the look of things, neither of them is going to run away with the title....which is a good thing from the neutral fans' point of view.

I'm interested to know how you are so sure it was exactly the same problem? Mercedes agreed the brake issues suffered by both drivers were similar, but EXACT? I'm not so sure.

Still, it doesn't shy away from the fact that if both drivers had an equal amount of DNF's, Lulu would be leading the WC. But, alas, thats not the case, yet.....
