It is highly unlikely that the team who is about to give Lewis 70m over three years with still 18 months to go on his current contract would want to mess his car up. Lewis has just been very unlucky lately.

RP01: When did Merc mess up his car? i must have missed that particular conspiracy theory!

No need for conspiracy theories, just a brain that can remember a week ago during crucial qualifying and a month or so before that which lost him 20-25points in Canada and potentially starting 1st or 2nd in Germany instead of 20th which he did well to recover to 3rd in the race

Nobody is saying the Merc "INTENTIONALLY" did anything to his car. Just that he has had a bit of bad luck with mechanical issues. Sure, most drivers have a few in a season. But when your in a battle for the title it is even more crucial. Nobody wants to see Nico beat Lewis by default. Bottom line is that Lewis averages more points per finish than Nico. So on equal finishes he would theoretically be leading. I know I wouldn't want to win because my challenger had more mechanical issues than I. That's for sure

Blimey, if 70 mil over 3 years is very unlucky, its difficult to sympathise.
