i am sure that every aspirng american f1 driver will have approached haas! rossi is ok, but he would have to prove himself as a capable driver first. there will be other far more experienced drivers available to haas, who will be ahead of him in the queue.

Haas will of course pick a proven driver (probably not American!) as his No.1 but keep to his dream of at least one driver being from the USA.
Rossi needs race time as well as just his reserve duties next year... he was hired for his American connection, so he could be a more "useful" driver than M4X even if he isn't much quicker .....

I'm sure Jacques Villaneuve will have approached them as well, he's only 93 and still believes he can cut it at the top level, seriously though there will be dozens of people coming out of the woodwork thinking that this is their big chance, I can only say dream on, the team is'nt even on the grid yet and come 2016 may not even be in a position to start racing, basing your team in the States for whatever reason is about as daft as it gets, England is the centre of F1 and I'm sure Haas knows that so why is he making a rod for his own back?

Rossi does not have really anything impressive on his racing CV just yet. As someone from Texas, yes it would be nice to have a US driver to cheer for, but I think Hass did not amass his great fortune on sentiment. He I would imagine he's going to try to nab the 2 best drivers he can regardless of nationality. If he does take on a US driver, he'll probably require the US version of PM and they better bring in lots of $$$.

Haas is really going to need a driver that has a lot of experience setting up the car. The team is going to be woefully short of any and all F1 experience so a seasoned driver may be one of the most important parts for Hass to pursue. Hass really can't afford to have a driver that is learning on the job at this point.

Rossi had a solid junior career and has probably been as good as Max Chilton was in GP2. He hasn't exactly shown he is the next big thing, and of course there are many other young drivers more worthy of an F1 seat, but if Haas is wanting an American behind the wheel of one of his cars Alexander is probably the best young American driver available right now.

Just think. We Americans could pull Scott Speed out of the crypt and dust him off and put his ball cap back on sideways just like he used to wear it and let him drive Haas' car around in circles. Then we would have an idiot to rival Lewis Hamilton off track!

Haha. I forgot about Scott Speed, what's he up to nowadays?
